BistroAt the entrance to the village of Braemar you will find The Gathering Place, a small family run bistro. Owners Sandie and Iain take pride in producing exciting dishes sourcing in the main local ingredients. The Gathering Place makes all the dishes on the premises,using only fresh produce. Iain is an innovative, classically trained chef, who has won many awards, with a wealth of experience gained both at home and abroad, which shows in the quality of the food he produces. Our main menu is updated frequently and is always available to view live on this site.

Braemar
Braemar is a small highland village located on the upper reaches of the River Dee. It is around 58 miles west of Aberdeen in the newly founded Cairngorms National Park, and we are only 9 miles from Balmoral Castle, the summer home of The Royal Family. Braemar is the ideal place to visit if you like the outdoor life. Walking holidays her are no doubt,amongst the best in Scotland.
Wildlife abounds here, with red deer, red squirrels, otters, grouse etc.
Some of the highest mountains in Scotland are accessed from Braemar - and some of the most spectacular scenery and wildlfe! We also have the Glenshee Ski center just up the road, which is the largest ski center in Scotland.
